Helvella
A genus of ascomycetes with about 27 species. Most are rare, but Helvella crispa and H. lacunosa are found frequently in woodlands. None are considered edible, though boiling them and discarding the water will make them so, though not improve the flavour which is basically tasteless. Leave them on the ground to admire is my advice.
